Who we are
Amigo Translate ("we", "us", "our") is a translation and language-services practice based at Uus tn 26, Kuressaare, 93814 Saare maakond, Estonia. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at support@amigotranslate.com.
What personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to quote, deliver, and invoice your order:
— Name
— Email address
— Phone number
— Postal address (only if you order a physical delivery, such as a printed certified translation)
— The content of the documents or files you send us for translation, editing, or localization
— Correspondence you send us (contact-form messages, emails)
— Basic technical data (pages visited, device type) if you consent to analytics cookies — see our Cookie Policy
We do not collect payment card details. Card payments (where offered as a demonstration) are never transmitted to or stored by us.
Why we process your data, and on what legal basis
— To provide a quote and process your order — performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
— To deliver your translation, arrange certification, notarisation, or interpreting, and issue invoices — performance of a contract and compliance with Estonian accounting-law obligations.
— To reply to enquiries sent through our contact form — legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
— To understand how the site is used, via Google Analytics 4 — consent, given through our cookie banner; nothing loads until you opt in.
Who sees your data
The translator and independent second reader assigned to your job see the content of your document, strictly to complete and check the work. Where certification requires it, a registered sworn translator or notary sees the relevant document. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties beyond what’s needed to deliver your order (for example, a courier, if you choose physical delivery) or comply with the law.
If you consent to analytics, aggregated, anonymised usage data is processed by Google Analytics 4; Google may process this data outside the EU, under its published data-processing terms and standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep order and invoicing records for as long as Estonian accounting law requires. Source files and translated documents are kept only as long as needed to deliver your order and handle any correction request, then deleted. Contact-form enquiries that don’t turn into an order are deleted after a reasonable period if no further correspondence follows.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask us to:
— Access the personal data we hold about you
— Correct inaccurate data
— Delete your data, where we’re not required to keep it
— Restrict or object to certain processing
— Receive your data in a portable format
— Withdraw consent (for analytics) at any time, without affecting processing before withdrawal
To exercise any of these, email support@amigotranslate.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) if you believe your data has been mishandled.

If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date below.
