Frequently asked questions
What does "certified translation" actually mean?
It means the translator signs and stamps a declaration that the translation is a complete and accurate rendering of the original document. Some receiving authorities also require notarisation (a notary confirming the translator’s identity and signature) or an apostille (for documents travelling to another country). We tell you which applies before you order.
How do I know which certification my document needs?
Tell us where the document is going — which office, university, embassy, or country — and we’ll confirm the right route: certified translation alone, certified plus notarisation, or certified plus apostille or legalisation.
Will this be accepted by the authority I’m submitting it to?
We build every certified translation to the standard Estonian and EU authorities generally require, and tell you in advance exactly what your document will carry. Acceptance is ultimately the receiving authority’s decision, so we can’t issue an absolute guarantee — but getting it right the first time is the entire point of the process we walk you through before you order.
Do you employ a sworn translator directly?
We coordinate certification through registered sworn translators and notaries for each job, matched to your language pair and document type.
Can I get a printed, stamped copy as well as a digital one?
Yes. Digital delivery is included as standard; a printed, stamped hard copy is available as an add-on, sent by registered post or courier.
What if the translation is rejected?
If a genuine error on our part is at fault, we correct it free of charge within 7 days of delivery. If the issue is a certification requirement we weren’t told about, we’ll advise on the fastest fix.
